Himalayan Abyssinian
How I got started in Himalayan Abyssinian is kind of by accident. My uncle is a teacher and I loaned him a sow to take to his class room for a few weeks to share with his class. Someone else had also brought a pet guinea pig. Not knowing much about breeding my uncle put the two together and a few months later I had a litter of mixed babies. All my uncle could tell was the father is "brown". Two of the babies were born white and I expected them to stay white. I had American Himalayans so I was familar with the way himis develop and after a few week I could see the white babies were getting points and that is when I thought it would be cool to breed for Himalayan Abyssinians since I have both black Abyssinian, Himalayan Americans and now two half breeds to get me started.

This is Hot Tamales, the one who was loaned to my uncle. She is a Golden Agouti Abyssinain.

Pinapple a sow, and Coconut a boar were the babies from Hot Tamales. I next bred Pinapple to Black Fizz then I bred the two sibling together.

Bananas is the daughter of Pinapple and Coconut. She turned out better than expected on rosettes and ridges but she has a white spot on the bottom of her foot so she is unshowable.
Black Fizz is a black Abyssinain boar

Kiwi is the daughter of Pinapple and Black Fizz. She turned out worse than expected on rosettes and ridges. But she is a sow so we kept her.
Current Breeding

I have Banana and Pinapple in breeding with Mystery Man who is a black Abyssinian. He is pretty nicely put together I am hoping for better rosettes and ridges and hopefully a boar because I kept three black sows from my fall breedings to breed into my himalayan herd.

These are the black sows waiting to be old enough to be put into the breeding program.
